Quick reference – slabs used

Old Regime (FY 2025–26) – Individuals <60: 0–2.5L: 0%, 2.5–5L: 5%, 5–10L: 20%, >10L: 30%.

Old Regime – Senior (60–79): 0–3L: 0%, 3–5L: 5%, 5–10L: 20%, >10L: 30%.

Old Regime – Super Senior (80+): 0–5L: 0%, 5–10L: 20%, >10L: 30%.

New Regime (FY 2025–26): 0–4L: 0%, 4–8L: 5%, 8–12L: 10%, 12–16L: 15%, 16–20L: 20%, 20–24L: 25%, >24L: 30%.

Rebate u/s 87A assumed as: Old regime – tax becomes zero if taxable income ≤ ₹5,00,000. New regime – tax becomes zero if taxable income ≤ ₹12,00,000 (for salaried, this roughly corresponds to gross income up to ~₹12.75L after standard deduction).
